Renée Desjardins
Renée Desjardins is an assistant professor at the School of Translation at the University of Saint-Boniface (Winnipeg, Canada). Formerly, she taught at the School of Translation and Interpretation at the University of Ottawa, while she was a doctoral candidate.
Although her fields of expertise are primarily situated in Translation Studies and Canadian Studies, she’s always had a taste for interdisciplinary research. She’s particularly interested in the connections to be made between Translation Studies, Social Media Studies, and Food Studies. She recently published her first book Translation and Social Media: In Theory, in Training and in Professional Practice (Palgrave Macmillan: 2016).
Renée was appointed to editor-in-chief of CuiZine in January 2016.
As editor-in-chief of CuiZine, she also mentors student-translators who help translate some of the journal’s content. She is also the ‘voice’ of CuiZine’s Twitter account.
